Hematology

Hematology is the study of blood in health and disease. It includes problems with the red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, blood vessels, bone marrow, lymph nodes, spleen.

Clotting is a necessary process that can prevent you from losing too much blood in certain instances, such as when you injure or cut yourself. A blood clot is a mass of blood that changes from liquid to a gel-like or semisolid state. When you’re injured, your blood normally begins to clot to prevent a massive loss of blood.

Thrombosis occurs when a clot forms inside one of your veins or arteries and it  can be a very dangerous and even life-threatening situation. Hemorrhagic disorders occur in certain conditions that prevent blood from clotting properly, which can result in heavy or prolonged bleeding both inside and outside the body.
